PROJECT DETAILS:
The Edgewood Early Childhood Center is a new facility designed to support the earliest stages of education, serving daycare, pre-kindergarten, and kindergarten students. The building reflects the growing investment by school districts in dedicated early childhood environments that better support families and early developmental needs.
The facility is organized into two primary wings: an educational wing with classroom spaces and a service and activity wing that includes shared support areas. Classrooms are arranged along two academic corridors to allow easy navigation and centralized supervision, each with dedicated storage and shared restrooms. Angled exterior walls create cozy learning nooks while bringing natural light into the classrooms.
At the heart of the building, a learning corridor serves as a vibrant hub for play, exploration, and informal learning. Additional spaces include infant and daycare classrooms, a flexible activity center, and a cafeteria with a movable partition for larger gatherings. The building also features a centrally located administration area, a dedicated special education wing, and capacity for future expansion.
